Dear colleagues,
I posted this (or something very similar) to the EATAW list some time ago but I’m hoping it might be relevant here too 😉

Some of you will have come across this announcement already or will have contributed to the book and I apologise taking up your time. For all other colleagues, you might want to know that an very interesting overview of writing programmes, centers, and initiatives was recently published on the WAC Clearinghouse in a book that was released during the summer.

Writing Programs Worldwide: Profiles of Academic Writing in Many Places
Edited by Chris Thaiss, Gerd Bräuer, Paula Carlino, Lisa
Ganobcsik-Williams, and Aparna Sinha

After years of intensive collaborative work, the team has put together more than 40 profiles of writing programs, writing centers and writing initiatives from 28 countries on 6 continents. All parts of the 560 pages are published online (and for free!) by the WAC Clearinghouse, at http://wac.colostate.edu/books/wpww.

And in print at http://www.parlorpress.com/wpww.

Books may be ordered directly from the press or via Amazon.

I do hope this book will reach colleagues and the various governing and funding bodies around and that the publication will impact program planning and design as well as research in writing studies.

Many thanks to Chris Thaiss and his team!

And do have a look at the mapping project site too while you are it!
